We offer the most recent in Zoom!2® technology for advanced power whitening at our Mission Viejo location while utilizing the gentle BriteSmile® whitening system at our Costa Mesa location. With either system, we can brighten your teeth by as many as eight shades – reducing or eliminating stains from coffee, tea, and cigarettes in just one hour.

LUMINEERS® are thin, attractive porcelain veneers that can be bonded to the front of teeth to correct misalignments, cover chips or cracks, and fill in gaps in your smile. Our dentists can place LUMINEERS® without removing any tooth structure – there is no shot, no drill, and no pain.

When a tooth is cracked or damaged to the extent that it cannot accommodate a filling, a dental crown is the best remedy. At NU Smile Dental Centers, we use full porcelain crowns to help strengthen your bite and improve the appearance of your teeth. We will even match the color of your custom porcelain restoration to the natural shade of your teeth. As a result, your new crown will be virtually undetectable in your mouth.

Porcelain inlays and onlays can also be used to correct rear teeth that have been damaged with slight cracks or fractures or that present mild to moderate decay. An inlay is formed to fit over a portion of the biting surface of a tooth, while an onlay can be used to restore a larger portion of the tooth surface. Porcelain inlays and onlays will have a natural appearance and can strengthen the tooth.
Our dentists have used composite fillings for years. Composite fillings are the cavity treatment of choice for most dentists because they provide support for your teeth without detracting from the appearance of your smile. Not only are these tooth-colored fillings more attractive than the metal fillings of the past, they are also much stronger and more durable. Our tooth-colored fillings are formed from a non-toxic, mercury-free composite, and will not corrode and stain your teeth like metal fillings can.

Invisalign® aligners are now available as an alternative to traditional orthodontics. With the Invisalign® system, teeth are gradually straightened using a series of clear plastic aligners, which are similar to mouthguards but much less obtrusive. The aligners are virtually invisible in your mouth and can be removed at any time for eating. If your teeth are unevenly spaced or overcrowded, Invisalign® aligners may be able to solve the problem without the aesthetic drawbacks of traditional braces.
Dental bonding offers a solution for anyone with minor imperfections in his or her smile. In just minutes, the dental bonding material can be applied to teeth that are chipped, gapped, or stained, and then sculpted and polished to improve the appearance of your smile.
We recommend dental implants for patients who are seeking a permanent replacement for one or more missing teeth. Dental implants are synthetic tooth roots that can be placed in the jaw to support the attachment of dentures, dental bridges, or a single artificial tooth. Implants require no more upkeep than natural teeth and they have been shown to last indefinitely. To learn more about how dental implants can improve your smile, contact NU Smile Dental Centers.
At NU Smile Dental Centers, Dr. Riazi performs dental implant surgery as well as implant restoration. Dr. Riazi can permanently attach dentures and bridges to your dental implants to create the perfect fit. These implant-supported bridges and dentures even mimic the look and feel of your natural teeth.
We offer complete and partial dentures for the replacement of missing teeth. Dentures can greatly enhance the appearance of your smile by filling in large gaps and preventing teeth from shifting in your mouth. Our dentists use only the most sophisticated materials to create dentures that are comfortable and natural-looking.
A root canal is a procedure that is designed to save severely infected teeth. By removing diseased soft tissue (pulp) and then sealing off the tooth to prevent further decay, our dentists can prevent infection from spreading to the bone and eventually causing teeth to fall out. If you are experiencing painful swelling near your mouth or jaw, please contact our practice as soon as possible to schedule a thorough examination.
Oral surgery may be performed to resolve a variety of conditions, including:
Our practice features the DIAGNOdent® laser system for the detection of tooth decay. This revolutionary tool in dental health is able to detect decay far in advance of what conventional methods can accomplish, and is able to target 50 percent of the decay that is not found by current diagnostic techniques.
A visit to the dentist can be a source of fear for some people, preventing them from receiving the treatments they need. At NU Smile Dental Centers, our dentists offer sedation dentistry using oral sedatives or nitrous oxide to help reduce patient anxiety.
Sedation dentistry allows patients to receive treatments while in a comfortable state of relaxation. It also provides dentists with the opportunity to perform complex treatments that might otherwise require a number of patient visits to accomplish.
Periodontal diseases occur when bacteria enter the attachment fibers and bone structure that support and secure teeth in the mouth. The bacteria can cause infection, and if left untreated, can lead to tooth loss. We have a periodontist on staff to provide periodontal (gum) care and deal with cases involving advanced gum disease and tooth loss.
Gingivitis and periodontitis are the two most common periodontal diseases. Gingivitis is the beginning stage of the disease process, indicated by red, swollen gums that may bleed easily. As the disease progresses toward periodontitis, the gums begin to separate from the teeth, forming pockets that collect bacteria that ultimately erode the bone. As more bone is lost, teeth become loose and eventually fall out.
We encourage patients to contact the American Dental Association, a valuable source for information concerning a wide range of oral health topics.
